As a Data Scientist with De Belastingdienst, I work to support more in-depth insight into the data that is available and help drive innovation in the government. I analyse data and produce products but also clearly communicate the results so everyone from my manager to the political top to people in parliament can understand. I pride myself on someone who can communicate numbers clearly but also get to the bottom of things. What are the most important questions to be asked, rather than just the ones that people are asking? In this job, I am gaining experience communicating to people from many different backgrounds as well as using industry recognised tools such as SAS, and Teradata but also, for example, more widely available tools such as Python. This way, I can use whatever instrument is the correct one to deliver a good result.
